What Were You Thinking?

Have you ever witnessed a co-worker doing something that made you ask, “What were you thinking?”

Perhaps it was something they wore, something they said, or the way they treated a customer or other co-worker. Regardless, there are times in the workplace when the actions, attitudes, or behaviors of others cause us to think, “I can’t believe that just happened!”

By the time participants complete “What Were You Thinking?” they will be able to:

  • List general expectations of local government employees.
  • Recognize appropriate workplace attitudes and behaviors.
  • Incorporate strategies that will help them avoid workplace pitfalls.

Topics of discussion include:

  • Our attitudes when dealing with citizens
  • Our attitudes with co-workers
  • Understanding the culture of local government
  • Appropriate workplace behaviors
  • Dress for success tips
  • Aligning personal commitment with an organization’s mission, vision, and values
  • And much more!

This course is based on feedback from Organizational Development and Human Resources professionals and is a must for all new employees and makes a great refresher all who work or serve in local government.
