J. Chris White

Chris is the President of ViaSim Solutions, a software and services provider for business planning. Prior to this role, he was Vice President of Operational Risk Management at Bank of America where he developed models and simulations to help the bank understand the short-term and long-term risks associated with various strategic decisions, such as outsourcing and major reductions in workforce. 

Earlier in his career, Chris was Manager of Total Quality Management (TQM) at Raytheon E-Systems and then worked as Manager of Process Improvements at Alcatel Network Systems.  In all positions, he developed the company's capabilities in Six Sigma, as well as modeling and simulating complex business processes.

Chris holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1990) and a M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Michigan (1992).  He has published three books, Strategic Quality Management (Thomson Learning, 1998), System Dynamics in Business (Quality Press, 1998), and Process Improvement Through Modeling and Simulation (Quality Press, 1997), and has published numerous articles in the fields of TQM, Six Sigma, leadership, project management, and strategic management. 

Chris is a Six Sigma Lean Master Black Belt (MBB), a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and a Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE).
